Assessment review is available on any parcel. To begin the re-assessment process, the owner of the property will need to authorize the review by completing and submitting the Request for Assessment Review Form. On November 8, 2016, Los Angeles County voters passed the Safe, Clean Neighborhood Parks and Beaches Measure (Measure A). This authorized the District’s implementation and administration of the direct assessment listed as “RPOSD Measure A” on property-tax bills.

On July 31, 2021, following the adopted Consumer Price Index Update Policy, the tax rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023/2024 and FY 2024/2025 will increase to a rate of 1.8 cents per square foot of structural improvements. Please see the corresponding Board Memo and Section 1.1 of the Grants Administration Manual for additional information.

On August 3, 2021, following the adopted Consumer Price Index Update Policy, the tax rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021/2022 and FY 2022/2023 will increase to a rate of 1.7 cents per square foot of structural improvements. Please see the corresponding Board Memo and Section 1.1 of the Grants Administration Manual for additional information.

On September 3, 2019, following the adopted Consumer Price Index Update Policy, the tax rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019/2020 and FY 2020/2021 was increased to a rate of 1.6 cents per square foot of structural improvements. Please see the corresponding Board Memo and Section 1.1 of the Grants Administration Manual for additional information.

On November 3, 1992, 64% of the voters approved Proposition A – the Safe Neighborhood Parks Act through a Special Election. This authorized the formation of the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District as well as its implementation and administration of the benefit assessment listed as “COUNTY PARK DIST” on property-tax bills.  The Proposition A benefit assessment concluded in 2019.
