E-asy Access: Connecting People Parks, and Places in the SGV
The E-asy Access: Connecting People, Parks and Places program reduces barriers to accessing parks along the Emerald Necklace by providing residents of high-need study areas with free access to good quality electric commuter bicycles and family cargo electric bicycles.
In its first year, the program engaged 1,205 participants, exceeding the initial target of 1,040. The initiative successfully conducted 12 Electric Bike (E-Bike) Exploratory Rides along the Emerald Necklace and organized 20 pop-up events showcasing the Go SGV E-Bikes.
The Easy Access Program significantly improved accessibility, connectivity, and safety along the Emerald Necklace and beyond. Active SGV’s efforts reignited a passion for cycling among individuals who had not ridden in decades, including both elderly and young participants, fostering stronger family bonds and a sense of community.
