Second Cycle of Technical Assistance Program Funds Launched for Park Equity Efforts 1024 1024 RPOSD

A second cycle of Technical Assistance Program (TAP) funding was launched in mid-June 2025, providing an additional $6.4 million to help eliminate barriers to creating new parkland in the County’s high and very high park-need neighborhoods. Since Measure A was approved, RPOSD has allocated more than $15 million to technical assistance. This round of funding introduces a new approach to the funding distribution that encouraged partnerships and collaboration between jurisdictions located in High and Very High Need Study Areas (TAP Eligible Entities) and nonprofit organizations and/or conservation corps.

In addition to the direct TAP allocation, which provided dedicated, non-competitive technical assistance funding to TAP Eligible Entities, the partnership allocation provides additional non-competitive funding to those entities that collaborate with an eligible nonprofit or conservation corps. Similar to the direct TAP allocation, these funds support planning, acquisition, and early development efforts for new or expanded publicly accessible parkland.
