RPOSD Hosts First-Ever Los Angeles County Park Funding Summit 1024 683 RPOSD

On October 10, 2025, RPOSD brought key park funding partners, leaders, and applicants together for the first-ever Park Funding Summit at Loma Alta Park in Altadena. The summit created an unprecedented opportunity for grant seekers to connect directly with local and statewide grantmakers, as well as potential partners, to leverage resources and strengthen future park projects. More than 150 participants from 65 cities attended the event, including representatives from park agencies, school districts, nonprofits, community-based organizations, and conservation corps.

RPOSD, along with other major funders, including the California Natural Resources Agency, California State Parks, Wildlife Conservation Board, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, and Baldwin Hills & Urban Watersheds Conservancy shared the availability of over $1 billion in upcoming park funding opportunities. Through presentations and panel discussions, the participants gained valuable insights into these funding opportunities.

This historic gathering marked a significant step toward building stronger partnerships, exchanging knowledge and resources, and positioning grant seekers for strategic collaboration with one another on future park projects in Los Angeles County.
