ESTEAM Summer Camp Program

The ESTEAM Summer Camp Program offers five two- week sessions of Environment, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (ESTEAM) summer camps for youth ages 6 to 12 at eight parks throughout Los Angeles County. This program is hosted by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors, and Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

In its first year, the program conducted 74 trips and engaged 7,695 participants, prioritizing accessibility for underserved communities in High Need and Very High Need areas. By partnering with local organizations, schools, and libraries, it built a strong support network while ensuring safety through trained staff and structured programming. Participants benefited from STEAM-based educational activities, culturally responsive experiences, and active recreation that promoted physical health, teamwork, and creativity. This approach fostered community connections, empowerment, and lifelong learning.
